Alex & Kurtis

Some weddings are beautiful. Others are unforgettable. Alex and Kurtis' July 27 wedding at the Fairmont Banff Springs was both.

Set against a perfect summer day in Banff, every part of their celebration felt effortlessly elegant. From the moment guests arrived, it was clear that no detail had been overlooked. White florals, soft candlelight, touches of gold, and thoughtful custom elements created a timeless aesthetic that carried from the mountain ceremony all the way through to the final dance.

Before the festivities began, Alex and Kurtis shared a private first look and a quiet moment together, exchanging heartfelt vows before seeing each other again at the ceremony. In front of family and friends, with the Rocky Mountains as their backdrop, they officially said "I do" beneath towering floral arrangements by Fall For Florals. White blooms lined the aisle, olive green bridesmaid dresses added the perfect contrast, and Uptown Strings provided a beautiful soundtrack as Alex walked toward the love of her life.

Their story stretches back much further than their wedding day. In her vows, Alex reflected on first noticing Kurtis in the hallway at school when they were just 15 years old. She spoke about how, even then, he had stolen her heart, and how she still couldn't believe she was marrying the man of her dreams all these years later.

Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed cocktail hour before the newlyweds were invited into their reception space for the first time. Their reaction said it all. They were completely speechless.

The space had been transformed into something truly extraordinary. Endless white floral runners spilled across long reception tables, candles flickered throughout the room, gold flatware and chairs added warmth, and soft white draping cascading from the balconies made the already iconic space feel even more dramatic. Rentals from Mountain Event Rentals brought every design element together, creating a reception that was both luxurious and timeless.

Everywhere you looked, there was another thoughtful personal touch. Signature cocktails, custom signage, personalized napkins, lawn games, elegant stationery, "For Your Happy Tears" tissues at the ceremony, a charming popcorn station, and even a custom gold cake knife made the celebration feel uniquely theirs. Their stunning cake from Whippt, adorned with delicate sugar flowers, fit seamlessly into the overall design.

As the evening unfolded, heartfelt speeches gave way to dinner, dancing, and celebration, with DJ Mark Mendioro keeping the dance floor full all night long. Throughout it all, Corrina Walker Photography and Twisted Film Works beautifully captured every emotional moment, while Blush & Coco ensured Alex and her bridal party looked incredible from morning until night.

Alex and Kurtis' wedding was the perfect reminder that timeless style isn't about doing more. It's about choosing meaningful details, surrounding yourself with the people you love, and creating a day that feels completely and unmistakably your own.
