Danielle & Ryan
Danielle and Ryan’s winter wedding at Stewart Creek in Canmore was beautiful.
Tucked quietly into the mountainside, Stewart Creek feels like a hidden alpine escape. For Danielle and Ryan, it was the perfect setting for a December celebration that leaned fully into the magic of winter in the Rockies.
Their ceremony took place outdoors, backed by dense evergreens and snow-covered mountains that looked straight out of a postcard. Overnight snowfall had transformed the entire landscape, coating every branch and ridge in fresh white powder. It was one of those rare winter days where everything feels still, quiet, and incredibly special.
Danielle was absolutely radiant. Her dark hair and striking eyes stood out beautifully against the snow and the soft white tones of her gown. The dress itself was a showstopper, featuring intricate beading that caught the light with every movement. It was elegant, timeless, and perfectly suited for the winter setting.
The ceremony design mirrored the natural beauty around them. Willow Flower Co. created a stunning florals for the arch, filled with white blooms and touches of greenery, blending seamlessly into the snowy forest backdrop. It felt organic, romantic, and effortlessly alpine. As Danielle and Ryan exchanged vows, their breath visible in the cold mountain air, there was something incredibly moving about the contrast. The temperature may have been chilly, but the moment was filled with warmth, emotion, and so much love.
Klaus Ohlhoff led a heartfelt ceremony that felt deeply personal, drawing everyone in as Danielle and Ryan promised forever to one another. With Revolution Entertainment providing subtle, emotional music throughout, the entire ceremony flowed beautifully.
Afterward, guests made their way inside, where the atmosphere shifted into something cozy, elegant, and inviting. Exposed wood beams and the warm cabin-style architecture created the perfect winter refuge after the outdoor ceremony.
The reception space was elevated with thoughtful details that kept the winter palette refined and romantic. White table linens paired with gold chairs, glowing candlelight, delicate baby’s breath arrangements, and gold cutlery created a soft, luxurious feel without overpowering the natural charm of the venue. Decor pieces from Mountain Event Rentals and Modern Rentals tied everything together seamlessly, bringing both texture and elegance into the space.
Three Sisters Photography captured the day beautifully, from snowy outdoor portraits to warm candlelit reception moments. Every photo reflected the emotion, intimacy, and joy that filled the entire celebration.
When it came time for dessert, Whippt delivered a stunning cake that was as delicious as it was beautiful, perfectly fitting the refined winter aesthetic.
What made this wedding truly special wasn’t just the scenery, the design, or the flawless execution, though all of those were exceptional. It was Danielle and Ryan themselves. Their connection was palpable. The way they looked at each other, laughed together, and embraced everyone around them made the entire day feel incredibly genuine and full of heart.
On a cold December day in the mountains, surrounded by snow and forest, we felt nothing but warmth.
Danielle and Ryan’s wedding was a perfect reminder of why winter weddings in Canmore are so magical, and why Stewart Creek remains one of our absolute favourite local venues. A breathtaking setting, an elegant design, and a couple so deeply in love made this celebration truly unforgettable.
