Landis and Tegan’s wedding at Hillside Lodge, just outside of Golden, BC, was the kind of day that reminds us why we love what we do.
Golden holds a special place in their story. Tegan grew up skiing on Kicking Horse Mountain, where her family still has a home, and it’s become a place the two of them have shared for years. While they both live in Canmore, choosing Hillside Lodge felt like the perfect escape, close to home but tucked away in a setting that feels worlds apart.
On a hot, sunny July day, guests gathered for a weekend that was as much about community as it was about celebration. Some camped, others stayed in cozy cabins, but everyone came together surrounded by sweeping mountain views, dense forests, and the Kicking Horse River below.
The ceremony was heartfelt and tear-filled, leading into a reception that blended family-style dining with a buffet and dancing well into the night. With an intimate group of guests, the energy was electric, palpable in a way that made everyone feel like they were part of something extraordinary. Families, lifelong friends, and new ones too, it was a true dreamscape of connection.
The style was modern boho, simple yet thoughtful. From dried florals by Willow Flower Co., to a telephone guestbook capturing voice messages, every detail reflected intention and care. The weekend came together seamlessly with catering by Trotters, music by Visual Sound Waves, beauty by Bare Beauty, stunning imagery by Black and White Photo and Film, and décor from Modern Lux Rentals and Mountain Event Rentals.
If you have a moment, we can’t recommend enough watching the film from Black and White. It captures the weekend’s energy, joy, and love in a way words can’t quite touch.
For us, this wedding will always stand out, not only because it was breathtaking in every way, but because Landis and Tegan are friends. To be part of creating a weekend this meaningful for them was an honour we’ll never forget.
